For AMHS deck officers tasked with preparing weekly tides and currents, I’m pleased to announce a beta tool:
The site generates print-ready weekly tides and currents worksheets for AMHS vessels. It pulls the vessel schedule from AMHS OARS, checks port arrivals and departures, and retrieves tide data directly from NOAA via their API.
To use it, type in an AMHS vessel name and the site will attempt to scrape OARS for the following week’s schedule. The worksheet can also be manually edited, including times, ports, and tide reference stations, so it may be useful for other vessels as well.
M/V Aurora has been tested and checked most carefully so far. That said, this is still beta software, so please verify all data against the usual official sources before relying on it.
The mainliner route is partly working, but less reliable at this stage. I did not have access to the full instructions document when building that version, so some route-specific tide and current limitations are not yet built in.
